Below are some early photos of my place back when I toured it pre-purchase. The previous owners taste in decor was very different from my own so it took awhile for me to imagine it as my own little humble abode. However, I had lots of grand ideas and ambition and decided I could have some fun along the way, and possibly transform this place into a lovely HGTV success story. (Well... not really, that might be a stretch, but I could definitely make an impact in the right direction!) Here's what I was looking at back in April...
An orange front door (welcome!)
A very narrow kitchen and a dining area separated by a large kitchen cabinet.
Concrete floors throughout...
Even on the stairs
(YIKES-I could see my graceful self tumbling right down these babies!)
Brick fireplace and an entire brick wall in the extra backroom
Some VERY colorful rooms!
There were also some things that I loved about this little casa too.
The cozy backyard and deck
And even the cute front patio area
I loved that this townhome had 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, an attached garage, and was more central to both where I work and play. I also loved the price of this home and the fact that it would be all MINE-no more money thrown away on rent. It allowed me to take advantage of the tax credit offered, so long as I put in my offer before May. (This benefit alone was HUGE and would allow me to make some upgrades.) This was a space that had so many possibilities and was just brimming with makeover potential. The only thought I had... where in the world do I begin???

First Post!
I am completely new to the blog scene, or at least to tackling my own. Many of my friends have blogs and I think it is such a neat way of sharing ideas, posting photos and happenings for faraway family & friends, and just accounting day to day life that seems to fly by.
After living in Austin for five years, I finally bought my own home this past July. My quaint little place just screamed for some TLC, and I have enjoyed fixing it up and making changes here and there when I can. While painting, repainting, tearing down, building, and rebuilding, I have often wanted to document my home adventures. Creating this blog will hopefully fulfill this purpose and help me gain a little insight into other whimsical life lessons as they come.
